Chennai Super Kings Bt Kolkatta Knight Riders Chennai Super Kings were very pleased to reach a fighting score of 164/3 in their 20 overs at the Eden Gardens Kolkatta. It was a pretty slow start as they lost some big wickets early on. Vijay and Raina got off to a start but departed soon. Both MS Dhoni and Badrinath then took over the task of rebuilding the innings and added an unbroken 109-run stand from 65 balls and they took their score to a fighting level at 164/3.
Dhoni (66* off 33) and Badrinath (43* off 33) added 109 runs for the fourth wicket hitting some big shots towards the end. Kolkata started off well with their bowling attack but could not stop these batsman from scoring big in the final overs.
In reply thereto, it was a pathetic display of batting by the batsmen of KKR who were eventually all out for 109 runs and fell short of the required target by 55 runs. KKR lost wickets at regular intervals and apparently had no solution to the accurate bowling by the Chennai Super Kings.
Saha (22), Luxmi Shukla (19) and M Kartik (21) were the main scorers for KKR. For the Chennai Super Kings, Kemp bagged 3 wickets for 12, Balaji 2 for 9, Morkel 1 for 6 and Gony 1 for 33.
The award for maximum sixes went to M.S.Dhoni.
The prize for Karbon Kamal Catch went to M. Vijai.
The Man of the Match award was given to M.S.Dhoni.

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kings XI Punjab
It was absolute bad luck for Kings XI Punjab who having scored 203 runs in the allotted 20 overs and were happy indeed that they were in sight of victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore. But cricket is the game of glorious uncertainties.
RC Bangalore beat Kings XI Punjab scoring 204 for the loss of 2 wickets. Jacquess Kallis smashed an unbeaten 89, and was ably supported in his victory effort were Manish Pandey(38) and Robin Uthappa (51).
Kallis and Pandey made mince-meat of the Punjab bowling attack and the crowd loved the boundries and the sixes. This remarkeble hitting made the crowd delirious as Bangalore neared the target but the early entertainer was Pandey. Pathan was hit for bowling it to a fuller length and when Yuvraj Singh held the length back, Pandey slammed him over midwicket for a six.
For the Kings XI Punjab, Bopara made 77, Bisla scored 75 and Jayawardane contributed 26 runs. Bopara opened up after Bisla departed and gave the innings a late push with three consecutive fours off Praveen Kumar in the 18th over.
The award for the maximum sixes went to Jacques Kallis.
The prize for Karbon Kamaal catch went to Mohd Kaif.
Jacques Kallis was named Man of the match for his swash-buckling 89 scored off 55 balls.
