RC BANGALORE BT MUMBAI INDIANS

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in a match played Saturday at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, the Mumbai Indians scored 151 for 9 wickets. It was not one of the proper batting performances by the MI batsmen as MI lost wickets almost at regular intervals.

For the Mumbai Indians Sachin Tendulkar, their main run-machine was bowled by Vinay Kumar for 25 runs and Saurabh Tiwary 25, Rajagopal Satish 24 Kieron Pollard 21 were the other contributors to their score.  Steyn took 3 for 26 and Vinay Kumar took 3 for 25 runs for the Royal Challangers Bangalore.

Royal Challangers Bangalore gave a wonderful batting performance yet again and is at present at the top of the table. Jacques Kallis again slammed a half century for the RCB and was 66 not out at the end of the match with Morgan who was 7 not out.  Virat Kohli also slammed 2 quick sixes in his 17 runs and was run out by Pollard. Earlier Manish Pandey slammed 40 runs off 27 balls while Robin Uthappa hit a quick-fire 23 off 15 balls.

Bangalore completed a fine 7-wicket win over Mumbai to get to the top of the table, giving Mumbai their first loss of IPL-3.  Chasing 152, Kallis (66*) and Pandey (40) once again provided Bangalore with a steady start they needed most. Uthappa (23) and Kohli (17) played good knocks before departing but Kallis once again sealed the win for his side.  The total was chased down by Bangalore in the last over with 5 balls to spare.

The winning Captain Anil Kumble was also very happy with the job well done.

His performance also yielded him the Man of the Match award.
