Adequate Police bandobast was in place and the Hotel Security had closed the doors of the Hotel for media personnel and outsiders

Even the media personnel had to be content by standing outside the gate and clicking pictures of the hotel lobby from a distance.

‘Zee News’ channel, however, managed to get a few pictures of the boy and the girl which they kept relaying, well after midnight.

‘Twitter’ was alive till 2.00am with tweeples tweeting this news and showering blessings on the newly engaged couple.

M.S.Dhoni’s brother-in-law revealed the good news to the media personnel present there, though this was later confirmed by a relative of the bride-to-be Sakshi Rawat.

The marriage is likely to take place after India’s home series against Australia in October which will also be the auspicious period of Navratras festival.

The engagement for Dhoni, one of India’s most successful captain, and the most eligible bachelor on the marriage circuit, comes just four days before his 29th birthday.

“Dhoni and his school friend Sakshi got engaged at Hotel Bhagirath in Dehradun,” a close family friend said in Ranchi.

“Besides the family members of Dhoni, including his parents, a few close friends were present during the engagement ceremony,” he added.

Among the cricketers present on the occassion were off spinner Harbhajan Singh and pacer Ashish Nehra.
