Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has scored his hundreth International Century at Mirpur, Bangla Desh. He has achieved this feat in the fourth match of the Asia Cup after keeping his fans all over the world, waiting, for almost a year.
There was not much crowd of spectators at the Shere Bangla National Stadium earler, but later it swelled to capacity as news spread that history could be made today. They must have thoroughly enjoyed as they witnessed an innings of patience, Sachin made 114 off 147 balls, hitting 12 boundaries and a six.
Sachin has so far scored 51 Test Centuries and 49 ODI hundreds.
After achieving this he said that he had shed “50 kilos” and said – “Enjoy the game and chase your dreams. Dreams do come true.” He denied that he was not under any sort of pressure to achieve the hindreth international century and it was the media who hyped it.
Twitter was abug with tweets on Sachin Tendulkar’s feat and I quote some of the tweets here -

Sachin has scored 51 hundreds in Tests and 49 in ODIs. It took him 188 Tests and 462 ODIs to get to this landmark. He scored 114 runs before he was dismissed by Mashrafe Mortaza. Sachin was at 99 and there was silence in the stadium. Firstly he played two balls in which he could not score, then he got his single off Shakib Al Hasan and the Stadium roared in ecstacy. As is his habit, Sachin removed his helmet, kissed it and looked heavenwards.
Congratulations poured in from all quarters. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India congratulated him on his achievement. Lata Mangeshkar also congratulated him amongst other dignitaries which included actors, including super star Amitabh Bachchan singers and politicians including Narendra Modi.
It was in 1989 when Sachin debuted in international Cricket at the tender age of 16 and slammed three sixes off Abdul Qadir, which was the hallmark of a genius. And it is two decades later that Sachin has completed his Century of Centuries.
Congratulatory messages are flowing in from all over the world, including, some from his comtemporary cricketers, who have played with him and watched him compile those centuries.
