Deccan Chargers beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in an exciting match where 55,000 spectators enjoyed a thrilling display of hard hitting shots at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore on Thursday.  Adam Gilchrist won the toss for Deccan Chargers and put the Royal Challangers Bangalore to bat.

Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey opened the innings for Bangalore and Pandey was bowled by Ryan Harris for 1 run. The Royal Challangers lost wickets at regular interval and were 68 for 4 at the 10th over mark. Then Kallis, with the adequate support of Virat Kohli steaded the innings for Bangalore. (more…)

K.K.R BT DECCAN CHARGERS

In the inaugural match of the IPL-3, Kolkatta Knight Riders beat Deccan Chargers by 11 runs at the Dr. D.Y.Patil Stadium at Mumbai. Adam Gilchrist won the toss and elected to field first and this decision was initially thought to be courageous as he had a good batting line-up and could have batted first but perhaps fielded first keeping the dew-factor in mind.

Chaminda Vaas bowled exceptionally well and took 2 KKR wickets in just 4 balls of his first over and the score card for KKR batting looked pathetic at 0-2. They had lost their first 4 wickets in quick succcesion and at that time it appeared that they would not reach even 100 runs.  (more…)

Earlier it was the Pakistani cricket players who were not bought by the team owners for the ensuing IPL-3 and created an international row on the issue. And now it is the Australian cricket players who despite having being bought by some of the team owners are under a shadow of doubt about their inclusion in the playing XI on the day of the matches.

Addressing his party  on Monday, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray said Australian players cannot play matches in Maharashtra. Thackeray had issued the same warning earlier as payback for the repeated attacks against Indians in Australia. (more…)
