Royal Challangers Bangalore beat Deccan Chargers by nine wickets in a totaly one-sided match. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat against Royal Challangers Bangalore at the D Y Patil Stadium Mumbai on Saturday. Deccan Chargers struggled and slipped to reach to a total of 82 runs in the third-place play-off.
Not many people came to witness the game and it was a dull atmosphere which prevailed through Deccan’s innings. Adam Gilchrist and Monish Sharma opened the innings for Deccan Chargers and Gilchrist departed early caught at square leg boundary by Kallis while attempting to hit a six off a full toss from Kumble.
Apart from Anirudh who scored 40 runs for his team, no other batsman could contribute much to the Deccan Chargers score. Kumble opened the bowling against Gilchrist and got him out caught by Kallis in the first over. Praveen Kumar bowled well and mixed his cutters with slower ones, in a tight spell. (more…)

The last five overs of the Mumbai Indians’ innings changed everything. They plundered 77 runs of these overs and beat the Royal Challangers Bangalore by 35 runs. Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat on Wednesday at the D Y Patel Stadiium, Mumbai.
Sachin Tendulkar and Shikher Dhawan opened the innings and the Mumbai Indians lost Sachin who scored only 9 runs. Dhawan was joined at the crease with Abhishek Nayar and then Shikhar Dhawan was run out for 12 runs by Virat Kohli.
Nayar and Rayudu took the score to 69 when Nayar was sent back to the pavillion by Pietersen for 22. Later Duminy was also packed by Kumble and the score read a pathetic 77 for 4. After the strategic time out, Bangalore struck twice in two overs. (more…)

The game between Royal Challangers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians was initially delayed due to two low intensity blasts outside the Stadium. After an hour it was decided that the match should be held as per schedule. The game began as if nothing had happened and the spectators did not lose out on their enjoyment and Mumbai Indians beat Bangalore by 57 runs.
Royal Challangers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field on Sunday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore. Mumbai Indians opened the innings with Sachin Tendulkar and McLaren who treaded cautiously and there was no big hitting except that Sachin hit two consecutive boundaries in the second over and was out after scoring 19 runs.
Tendulkar wasn’t at his best, and he was caught by Ross Taylor at the square leg boundry. McLaren, however scored 40 runs and was out lbw bowled Pietersen. (more…)

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium Jaipur on Wednesday. Bangalore restricted Rajasthan to 130 runs and they made these runs with utmost ease.
M. Lumb and Naman Ojha opened the innings for Rajasthan on a pitch which had a slow bounce. Rajasthan could not show their batting prowess today, as they were in bad shape right from the word go.
Lumb was run out for 9 and Rajasthan 16 for 1. Paunikar arrived at the crease but he too departed soon and the score became 17 for 2. Rajasthan got another blow when Ojha was out caught Pandey bowled by Pankaj Singh for 7 runs. (more…)

Deccan Chargers beat Royal Challangers Bangalore by at the Vidharba Cricket Association Ground at Nagpur on Monday. Dale Steyn’s superb bowling effort wrecked Deccan Chargers top batsmen. Gilchrist, Suman and Gibbs were his victims and he got them with sheer pace and accuracy.
Rohit Sharma and Monish Mishra somehow tried their best to stabilise the sinking ship of Deccan Chargers with an 82 run partnership. Gilchrist was the first to go out caught Uthappa when he edged the ball from Steyn.
Rohit Sharma was out caught Pandey bowled Vinay for after scoring the vital half century for his team. At that time Deccan Chargers then stood at 133 for 6 and then Suman was caught off a rising delivery at leg slip by Taylor. (more…)

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkatta Knight Riders by seven wickets in a thrillling encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore on Saturday. Rahul Dravid and Uthappa slammed half centuries to ensure a victory over Kolkatta by seven wickets. Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to field. The Kolkatta Knight Riders reached to 61 runs in the six overs.
Ganguly and Chris Gayle hammered Praveen Kumar to 21 runs in the fifth over itself. Dale Steyn, despite the speed which he is able to generate, he was also not accurate in his bowling and both openers gave a good start to Kolkatta.
Robin Uthappa
Brendon McCullum (45), Chris Gayle (34) and Sourav Ganguly (33) batted very well for Kolkata but the rest of the batsmen failed to produce any partnerships.
At one stage Kolkatta were appearing to cross 180 plus in this innings but accurate bowling by Bangalore bowlers in the middle overs got three quick wickets to halt their flow of runs. Ganguly failed to read a slow ball from Vinay and was caught at square leg for 33. Manoj Tewary slashed one to point and was caught White off Kallis for 0. (more…)

Deccan Chargers beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in an exciting match where 55,000 spectators enjoyed a thrilling display of hard hitting shots at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore on Thursday. Adam Gilchrist won the toss for Deccan Chargers and put the Royal Challangers Bangalore to bat.
Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey opened the innings for Bangalore and Pandey was bowled by Ryan Harris for 1 run. The Royal Challangers lost wickets at regular interval and were 68 for 4 at the 10th over mark. Then Kallis, with the adequate support of Virat Kohli steaded the innings for Bangalore. (more…)

It was a game of fluctuating fortunes between runs and wickets as Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challangers fought it out at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, New Delhi on Sunday. Gautam Gambhir won the toss and chose to bat. Virendra Sehwag scored 35 runs off 22 balls and was bowled by Mithun. Sehwag had hit two huge sixes and five fours in his 35 runs. He slammed one six off the first ball of Mithun’s over and was bowled in the very next ball.
Kumble bowled very well and he ensured that DD could not reach to a high total and contained them by superb bowling and fielding. Gautam Gambhir was run out and David Warner also did not last long. Warne hit three fours and two sixes but was later caught on the long-on boundry. (more…)

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kings XI Punjab by six wickets. Irresponsible fielding by Kings XI Punjab and a series of dropped catches cost them the match. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and chose to bat against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday at the PCA Stadium, Mohali.
Shaun Marsh and Manvinder Bisla opened the innings but Marsh was caught by Dravid off the bowling of Vinay Kumar after scoring only 2 runs. Dravid has a reputation of having the safest pair of hands in the slip region. (more…)

Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challangers Bangalore in a thrilling encounter. R. C. Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat at the M.A.Chidambaram Stadium at Chennai on Wednesday. Jacques Kallis and Pandey opened the innings for the RCB and Pandey could not last long and was caught by Dhoni b Thussara for 5. In came Robin Uthappa to occupy the crease and he was dropped by Goni when he was at naught.
Thereafter, Uthappa slammed two sixes and a boundary but was caught by Goni, b by Shadab Jakati for 21 runs. Virat Kohli also played well and contributed 34 runs for the RCB and was caught by Vijai b Jakati. Actually Virat Kohli and Jacques Kallis set the momentum for the RCB and were together in a half-century stand. (more…)
