Electing to bat, the Lankans lost Tillakaratne Dilshan (1) early with Ishant Sharma producing a delivery to knock down his leg stump and the crowd went into raptures.

Ishant managed to pick up 2 wickets for 42 runs and Yuvraj managed to bag 3 for 23. India once again put up an extremely sloppy fielding display to allow Sri Lanka to post a mammoth 206 for seven in the second and last Twenty 20 international here on Saturday.

Kumar Sangakkara again tormented the hosts with a 31-ball 59 to provide the impetus to the Lankan innings as the Indians dropped as many as five catches to again give a pathetic account of their fielding abilities. Sanath Jayasuriya (31), Chintaka Jayasinghe (38) and Angelo Mathews (26 not out) were the other notable performers for the visitors who are leading the two-match series 1-0.

The Indians had to score at a stiff asking rate of 10.30 to hope of levelling the series on a good batting track at the PCA stadium. And they did it in style. They have achieved the distinction of overhauling the highest run chase in T 20 cricket.

Sehwag slammed 64 off 36 balls, Gambhir was out early for 21 and Dhoni was out for a well 46 runs and birthday boy Yuvraj made 64 quickfire runs off 36 balls. Yuvraj Singh’s 25-ball 64 not out, steered India to a six-wicket win.

Chasing 207, India romped home with five balls to spare as Yuvraj finished things with his fifth six of the innings. If the Indians dropped five catches in the first game in Nagpur, there seemed to be no improvement as they spilled five catches again today.

The details of the prize distributions is as under :-

Team India becoming No. 1 in Tests Rankings  – M.S.Dhoni, Captain.

First Indian to score six double –  hundreds in tests  – Virendra Sehwag.

Man of the match _ Yuvraj Singh

Man of the series – Kumara Sangakara

 Maximum Sixes – Yuvraj Singh
