The lone surviving Pakistani terrorist of Mumbai terror attacks, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab – was hanged at 0730 AM at Yerawada jail, Pune. He had killed 166 people at  Mumbai  on 21/11/2008.

President Pranab Mukherjee had rejected his mercy plea earlier this month.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan told journalists that Kasab had been buried inside the Yerawada jail premises after the execution. Chavan said, Kasab had been shifted from Mumbai’sArthur Roadjail to Pune two days ago.

The execution was carried out in complete secrecy but it was only when the news of his hanging was announced on the TV news channels, people thronged the Yerawada jail. (more…)

KASAB AWARDED DEATH PENALTY

The victims of the 26/11 carnage at Mumbai have received justice at last. The lone surviving assassin of Mumbai carnage Ajmal Amir Kasab has been found guilty of all the 86 charges against him and has been awarded the ‘death sentence’ on the basis of eye-witnesses, CCTV footages and forensic reports.

 He has been awarded the death penalty on four counts and  life sentence has been pronounced for five others. And then, Kasab broke down.

Awarding the judgement, Honourable Justice M.L. Tahiliyani “The depravity of the 26/11 attacks is unspeakable….this man has lost the right to humanitarian benefits,” said Judge M L Tahaliyani,  and observed that there was preponderance of overwhelming circumstances that the accused is awarded the capital punishment for murder, waging war against India, conspiring to commit murder, and act of terrorism. TERROR ON THE AGENDA

The date for bilateral talks between the foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan has been fixed on 25th Feb 2010. The likely venue is New Delhi and they will discuss the issues at hand regarding the infiltrators in the LOC as well as the terror front. But, no one is going to take the responsibility of the bloodshed that has occurred in Mumbai as well as Pune.

The blast in Pune was not unexpected, as this city had been mentioned in the speeches held in POK during the recent congregation of a number of terrorist outfits held there. (more…)

IS INDIA PREPARED FOR ANOTHER ATTACK LIKE 26/11?

The ‘first anniversary’ of Mumbai carnage is within a couple of days.The city was held to ransom by ten terrorists who created havoc. It was initially thought that Mumbai Police would round up the attackers within a couple of hours. It was never expected that the 26/11 siege would last for 62 hours.

The terorists were armed to the teeth, had weaponry and stamina enhancing doses to last for four days. It was the National Security Guards, who were flown into Mumbai, who ensured that the situation could be brought under control at hotels Taj Mahal and Trident and the Nariman House. (more…)
