The lone surviving Pakistani terrorist of Mumbai terror attacks, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab – was hanged at 0730 AM at Yerawada jail, Pune. He had killed 166 people at  Mumbai  on 21/11/2008.

President Pranab Mukherjee had rejected his mercy plea earlier this month.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan told journalists that Kasab had been buried inside the Yerawada jail premises after the execution. Chavan said, Kasab had been shifted from Mumbai’sArthur Roadjail to Pune two days ago.

The execution was carried out in complete secrecy but it was only when the news of his hanging was announced on the TV news channels, people thronged the Yerawada jail. (more…)

Delhi Dare devils beat Kings Punjab XI.

 Gautam Gambhir made a captain’s knock of 72 as Delhi Daredevils snatched a five-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab in a live-wire encounter on Saturday.  Delhi restricted KIngs XI Punjab to 142 for nine and overhauled the target with just one ball to spare at the floodlit PCA Stadium,Mohali.

Delhi Daredevils beat Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets at the Mohali Cricket Stadium. Batting first the Kings XI Pb scored a modest total of 142.Ravi Bopara with 56 and Kumara Sangakara 17 were the main contributors for Kings XI Punjab’s total of 142 in 20 overs. (more…)

Earlier it was the Pakistani cricket players who were not bought by the team owners for the ensuing IPL-3 and created an international row on the issue. And now it is the Australian cricket players who despite having being bought by some of the team owners are under a shadow of doubt about their inclusion in the playing XI on the day of the matches.

Addressing his party  on Monday, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray said Australian players cannot play matches in Maharashtra. Thackeray had issued the same warning earlier as payback for the repeated attacks against Indians in Australia. (more…)
